While reading the Tamil story “Vel Paari” by Su Venkatesan (a must read Tamil novel), I was forced to keep the book and ponder over for some time, when I read about the narration of Lord Muruga hunting the pigs.
The story line goes as follows :-
” Lord Muruga was guarding the plantation along with his friend. Lord Muruga and his friend noticed a group of pigs came into the plantation and started eating the plantations.
Lord Muruga a very skilled archer, started killing the pigs using bis bow and arrow. In the process, Lord Muruga was able kill many pigs but could notice that the number keep increasing. Lord Muruga got tired and exhausted moving around the vast extent of land and also noticed lesser number of arrows compared to the number of pigs destroying the plantations.
Lord Muruga started to think and to consider a strategy before he looses all his arrows. Lord Muruga knows that it is the King which will direct and instructs the others.Lord Muruga identified the King and killed the King. Immediately, the other pigs scattered and ran for cover and left the plantation “.
After reading this and considering the strategy applied by Lord Muruga to win over the drove of pigs, an idea struck me to win over the negative thoughts. Killing the negative thoughts only multiply the negative thoughts and in the process of we lose the war. The best way to kill is to identify the King and kill. Automatically the negative thoughts will vanish and we Win.
However, how to identify the King ? It is very difficult and I am sure with a clear, quiet mind and vision one can identify the King.
