When I wrote “Advocate and Advocacy: The Skill – A Dip into the Ocean”, my primary intent was to bridge the gap between law school and courtroom practice for young lawyers.
However, the most surprising outcome of writing the book was what it did for my own practice.
Putting three decades of courtroom experience, ethics, and drafting principles into words forces a deep level of self-examination. When you commit your thoughts, standards, and methods to paper, they become firmly ingrained in your subconscious.
I have noticed that my own conduct in court, my approach to arguments, and the way I carry myself as an advocate have noticeably elevated ever since. Teaching the craft holds you accountable to the highest standard of it.
